How to set up vagrant, cheffile and cookbooks?

Hello, Im really sorry .. I have no idea how to set up the first settings vagrant, vm, cheffile, cookbooks and virtual box... because its too fast...Im using linux mint, do i need to get virtual box ? or vagrant?. Again Im really sorry if i asked so many questions.
